TPHA News is the quarterly newsletter of the Texas Public Health Association bringing our members association news and giving them an opportunity to network and share their news from around the state!! Our newsletter is produced in alternating months between the Texas Public Health Journal (TPHJ) releases.  It will be sent to members typically in late February, May, August, and November. You must be a member to submit newsletter items. 

There are many events or news items you can send to us! If it is public health related, we want to see it! If it does not interfere with our nonprofit status, we will include it!   Let your Texas colleagues know about the great work you and/or your agency/institution are doing. You may submit as many news items as you wish. The newsletter item possibilities are endless! Below are a few suggestions to get you thinking:

  • TPHA leaders, (section chairs, committee chairs, officers) this is your chance to engage with your section, committee, or association members.
  • Announce a special program your agency is starting.
  • Announce projects or programs recruiting participants.
  • Recognize a co-worker.
  • Announce your promotion.
  • Announce your new certification, license or publication.
  • Announce new health department accreditations or re-accreditations.
  • Announce meetings or conferences in your area you think members may be interested in.
  • Announce a new podcast or webinar you think other members would want to attend.
  • Share program updates.
  • Announce job opportunities *
    • Please use the following format to send us your Job Announcements and we will also post under “Resources” on our website:
      [Name of Public Health Entity] invites applicants for the position of [xyz].
      2-3 sentences describing position.
      Apply here: www.abc.org
      Applications will be accepted until [closing date] (We will use this date to remove from the website.)

Please use the following format to send us your TPHA News items:
From [Your name and TPHA section or name of institution/agency if not an individual member]
[Your news item in about 150 words, including any contact information if appropriate].

o Books,
o Software.

Annually celebrate National Public Health Week by publishing select papers detailing community health projects.
